Former THE ALMIGHTY Frontman Comments On CIRCUS DIABLO Project
January 15, 2006Former THE ALMIGHTY frontman Ricky Warwick has commented on CIRCUS DIABLO, his new project featuring former THE CULT touring bassist Billy Morrison, THE CULT guitarist Billy Duffy, with help from VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum. In a posting on his official web site, Warwick writes, "CIRCUS DIABLO started with some songwriting sessions with Billy Duffy, Billy Morrison and myself. For no other reason than to write some rock songs and have some fun. We ended up writing quite a few tracks and have begun to record them over at Drac Studios, owned by Matt Sorum. Matt has been playing drums on the recordings (as well as co-producing the tracks with us). Myself and Billy Duffy have been recording the guitars, leaving Billy Morrison to handle the lead vocal and bass guitar duties.
"Obviously all three of us have myriad of other commitments, (my solo career being my primary love and concern). So this will be just a homegrown, cottage industry-type affair.
"I have known the two Billys from way back when I used to live in London.
"We are enjoying writing music together, and we are definitely having a blast recording music as CIRCUS DIABLO.
"If schedules permit, we may even go and play some shows together. We are doing everything ourselves and are not out there thinking about record deals, tours, release dates etc. Just take it for what it is — a reason to be creative, a reason to make music and reason to have fun."
